TTPM is the Consumer Tribunal. It helps consumers claim compensation from businesses.

When to file at TTPM:

Faulty products
Poor services
Unreturned deposits

Maximum RM50,000 per claim

What TTPM Can Hear:

Consumer claims under Consumer Protection Act
Claims ≤ RM50,000
Between consumer and supplier
For goods/services purchased in Malaysia

What TTPM Cannot Hear:

Personal injury/death claims
Land/property disputes
Employment disputes
Claims > RM50,000

How to File a Claim

Step 1: Prepare Documents

Receipts/invoices
Photos of defective products
Correspondence with supplier
IC copy

Step 2: File Online

Visit e-ttpm.kpdn.gov.my
Fill Form 1 (Statement of Claim)
Pay RM5 filing fee
Receive case number

Step 3: Attend Hearing

Hearing date scheduled (usually 60 days)
Both parties present
No lawyers allowed
Present your case

Step 4: Tribunal Order

Decision given at hearing or within 60 days
Order is final and binding
Can be enforced like court order

Do I need a lawyer for TTPM?

No, lawyers are not allowed. You represent yourself. This keeps costs low and process simple.

How long does TTPM process take?

Typically 2-4 months from filing to hearing. Hearing decision may be given same day or within 60 days.

What if business doesn't attend hearing?

Tribunal can proceed in absentia and make order. Order is still enforceable.

Can I appeal TTPM decision?

TTPM decisions are final. Only appeal on point of law to High Court (rare).
