How to access public healthcare services

Types of government facilities

Malaysia has many government healthcare facilities. Each serves different needs.

Clinics (Klinik Kesihatan):

  • For common illnesses
  • Walk-in, no appointment
  • RM1 for Malaysians
  • Open Mon-Sat

Hospitals:

  • For serious conditions
  • Need referral from clinic (for specialists)
  • RM5 for Malaysians
  • Emergency open 24/7

What to bring:

Process:

  1. Register at counter
  2. Pay RM1 or RM5
  3. Wait for your number
