What is BOMBA?
The Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM), commonly known as BOMBA, is Malaysia's national fire and rescue service. Established in 1883, BOMBA operates under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
Organizational Structure
BOMBA has headquarters in Putrajaya and state-level offices in all 13 states plus Federal Territories. Each state has multiple stations strategically located for rapid response.

Call Procedure: What Information to Provide

BOMBA Response Procedure
- Call Receipt: Emergency call logged and categorized
- Dispatch: Nearest station alerted (target: < 60 seconds)
- Response: Fire trucks depart (target: < 90 seconds from alert)
- Arrival: Target response time is 8-10 minutes in urban areas
- Assessment: Officer in charge assesses situation
- Operation: Rescue/firefighting begins
- Handover: Scene handed to police/ambulance if needed
What to Do While Waiting
